Boundaries versus Limits

Send to Kindle

We all hate to hold ourselves back.  That’s good.  Limits are bad.  But boundaries are good.  Do you know the difference?

Don’t set limits on yourself, but do create some boundaries.  Working from home can get all consuming.  So one of the best things you can do is take some time each weekend and schedule the hours you are going to work that week.  AND set aside the times when you are NOT going to work that week.

Have a date night with your spouse.  Some quality time with your children.  Recreation time for yourself.  And during these times, no business is allowed.

You may think you don’t have time for all this, but you do.  You really do.  It’s simply a question of setting priorities and planning ahead.  And you’ll find that when you set boundaries and keep your mind clear of business, you’re always fresh and excited to get back to it.  And that makes you a whole lot more productive.

Ain’t it great!

I started doing this a few years ago and discovered I was more productive and had more time for me. :)

  3. Good point, I need to set aside time for myself. I do feel myself getting nurned out because I go go go without time for me…

    Thanks RG,
Its a piece of advise as of recently have been in friction with my partner for not spending quality time with her as I did before starting this business,I guess she is not comfortable with my new carrier for that case. This will help me a lot in addition to efficiency.

  5. This is something for months I was challenged with.

The super achiever in me wanted to virtually work/be available to take calls, do presentations, etc from sun up to sun down.

Took me awhile to learn this principle & bo when implemented makes a big difference.

    Great post.

  6. So true we all need to step away and give to the other important parts of our life creating a balance. When true harmony is met and the gratitude is expressed WOW things just keep getting better and better in all areas.

THANKS for what you do. :) Always Grateful

    Hi Randy,

Thank you again for the Mega – MLM event which was a powerful blast. You sure really have worked hard and smart in your 20 years of driving the prosperity project. The high business wisdom and useful tips (like the one above) you give, all add up to make you one of the few MLM mega stars who are poised to rightfully posture the Network Marketing profession for what it is – a fair enterprise business model that offers no – limit personal achievement opportunities to the fortunate few who figure it out.

    Warm regards to you.

I always take a break after I work a few hours everyday to go hit the gym. And then everyday that I have my son I take an hour to pick him up and we go to the library together. He does his homework and I do my work.

    Hey Randy’

In the book of King Solomon in the bible, he said”Every thing has its time,
There is time to seed and time to reap, time to work, and time to get rest, and so on.Everyone need to program and organise his activities and the boundariesto them.

  10. Randy, This is so true. I need to work on those boundaries. Too much work is so consuming and leaves one drained and as though we are missing the “fun” part of why we are in business. Appreciate the reminder!

  11. Rodrigo says:

In his excellent book “The Magic of Thinking Big” David Schwartz elaborates on the subject and gives great advice on becoming more successful by doing things we enjoy.
This book has been life changing to many people, and at the very least points your life in the right direction!
