I hate SPAM as much as everybody else; however, I have come to the conclusion that as technology and communication evolves, we will see more of this.

Often, I wonder if these emails, tweets, and other offers are much different than the days when I wallpapered my neighborhood and car windows in parking lots with fliers. Or, standing at the mall, handing fliers and product samples to anybody that took one.
Does anybody remember, or maybe still perform cold calling?

I remember the videos of Herbalife's founder standing on a street corner trying to sell product and opportunity, out of the trunk of his car, to everybody that walked by.

My point, is that SPAMMING has been a part of our profession from the very beginning. I don't like it, but to each his own.

As it has been noted, this is a RELATIONSHIP industry. If you are truly building a relationship before presenting your opportunity, the prospect will join your business because they believe in YOU and nothing else. No spammer can ruin this.

"If it is to be, it's up to me"

With all due respect, the term "police" and "self-police" bring up specters of vigilante committees and ad hock posse's.

Mary Jo just made a call for moderation, and look how you are reacting!

Is this getting out of hand?

Amen!
See my comment earlier on this page dd 2009-07-25 03:19:19 .
All of this negativity is still publicity. Letting our emotions control our behavior has never proven itself.
