You Find a Way

Send to Kindle

When your situation gets bad enough, you find a way out of it.  Unfortunately for some of you, you don’t have things bad enough.

You have a day job and you’re getting by.  You’re not rich and not happy, but you’re not destitute and miserable.  And that’s keeping you stuck.

You don’t buy marketing materials or attend events, because you say you don’t have the money.  But if you’re miserable enough, you find the money.  You clean apartments or construction sites, you cancel your cable TV, or you deliver newspapers in the morning.

And not just money.  The say holds true for time or any other perceived challenge that you think is holding you back.

Because when you get fed up with your current reality, and you’re really ready to change, you always find a way.

So what’s it going to be for you?  Are you going to post a comment below, explaining to me why this really won’t work for you?  Or will you find a way?

Ok! I understood the message. We do not have to be crying babies! We must find a way! OK! I will find the way to meet more people. What do you think about the bokk “Never eat alone”? Is it a good book to start to make new relationships?

  4. Damn, you’re good, Randy! I think you hit the spot for many networkers that doesn’t seem to get the idea of paying for materials and events.

Good one Bro Randy! I needed that! Thks.

  8. So true, Randy. It’s too easy, even when you’re making a paltry salary from a day job, to say “I’ll do it later, I’m doing okay right now.” But if we want to achieve our goals and break away from the rat race, we need to do the work that’s going to get us there.

  11. Good Morning Randy,

Your not going to p…. me off because what you say is the Truth.

    Hey Randy,

Some people have difficulty to make decision and to take action.
When the situation isn’t bad enough, there isn’t a strong “why”,
to get out from the comfortable zone,to the way which will better
    the bad situation.

  16. really piss me off..again with the simple stuff,,can’t you make it complicated so that there is something to complain about. When you make it this simple, there is nothing left…true if the pain is strong enough, you will find a way to make it happen,,if someone you love is sick and you need money to get the best doctors,,you will find a way..if your boss finally pissed you off enough,,then you will find a way..even if its just one phone call,,one presentation,,one something that will make your business grow,,,anything that will start the process, to get that money to pay for those doctors, or to make that money where you can finally tell your boss ” take this job and shub it, I ain’t working here no more..”..its in our nature to stop the pain, frustration, that helpless feeling of discust..making me sick just to think about it..I think Denzel Washington made a movie about this a few years ago..

  17. Keith Nauls says:

You must first Decide that you will succeed. Once a decision is made, then the way for your dream to become reality must also exist.

Whatever you need or desire, the money for it will and must be here. This is a constant, absolute law of the universe that applies to everyone.

So, it’s not that you don’t have the money, but that you can’t see where opportunities to receive more money already exist for you.

You think you can’t afford “it” because you’re coming from a place of lack instead of a place of abundance. That lack keeps you from truly understanding or being in awareness of how money works and how it comes to you.

  20. Hey Randy,

I don’t always agree with what you post, but this couldn’t be any closer to the truth.

When the pain gets great enough, people will do whatever it takes to get the money, make the time, learn the skills.

    Thanks for the reminder!

    Hi Randy:
    Unfortunately for some of you,
And for some of us,we are happy doing what we are doing or we already are sastified with building our NM business to a certain that level where WE ARE HAPPY and not living by someone’s expectation of what happiness means.

  22. Jack LaCava says:

True in some ways but off mark in others. First of all, you should address the root cause of people not taking action. Forget about the monetary factor for a minute. Let’s talk about having a jerk for a sponsor who gives their team members very little to zero support. This translates in giving the distributor a “what did I get myself into” feeling and the last thing they want to do is work to put money in that jerks pocket.

As far as finding a way to attend, say, a national covention – that can be very costly. My convention is in Vegas and I live on the east coast. I’m going but there are some people that can’t afford to spend the $1600. I’m not about to tell them to work another job, that’s ridiculous. They can still be successful by working hard and gleaning the info from convention from me when I return. Your advice is not on point. My guess is that the people agreeing with you are on your team.

    • Randy Gage says:

Two things I would say to your comments Jack:

If you have the idea that you shouldn’t work your business because it will put money in your sponsor’s pocket, you may as well quit now. Because that is a certain recipe for failure.

And second, $1,600 for a convention is not expensive. Not attending the convention is a lot more expensive. And no, most of the people here are not on my team. This blog is read by thousands of people in many different companies.

      • Jack LaCava says:

I disagree Randy. Having a sponsor that does nothing for you is no better than working a j-o-b and disliking your boss. The difference is with network marketing, you have a choice and that choice is NOT a recipe for failure but an opportunity for success.

To a millionaire like yourslef, $1600 is couch money but to many people it is a significant investment and most conferences are more about recognition and rah rah than education. I will say one thing about convention – it is a great way to meet other people in your business going through the same issues and successes plus you might pick up an idea that could make you even more successful.

  23. Randy,

This conversation needs lots more attention. You are correct that most people are stuck between tragedy and nowhere and settle for the same old nothing. I personally do not want to hit rock bottom before it gets bad enough and have always found a way to raise the bottom to where I am. I have failed at translating that skill to others, finding what will keep them interested, on purpose and doing the few simple tasks needed to make this work eludes me.

Only one in ten does anything remotely close to working their business and only one in five of those are willing to match my activity. I have gotten more selective… and maybe I should return to enrolling every yes that moves. I have not figured out how to let it go when they go witness protection the day after they enroll. What is it that has someone call three or four times a day for weeks, asking questions, getting ready, looking over all the issues and once they commit and enroll…. Disappear?

I have been to dozens of events and getting there from here adds another coast to coast flight and I only have so many days to spend inside the USA. Every event I have attended made a huge difference for me. If I can get to CA or Vegas what’s really in the way for someone within a four hour drive crying about?

Of late I sort faster. I can lead people to water. Is there a potion to have them drink? I will use up all 30 days I have this year for time inside USA. Meetings, courses and events for nearly all of it and I lose a day each way traveling. … I have found over a dozen people this last year during those travel days too.

WHAT gets people out of their comfort zone? What can I [and anyone else who is going for it] look for that will raise the likelihood I found a ‘hot runner’ in a prospect? I know the numbers. Mine are good in every category. I just want the numbers to be better.

    • Randy Gage says:

Michael I’m working on a new e-book now called, “The 7 Laws of Network Marketing Leadership” that will shed some helpful light on the issues you raise. I’m hoping to have it up here on the site within two weeks.

I was laid off 3 years ago. I thought it was the worst thing that could happen at that time, but it’s turned out to be a blessing! I have grown immensely from my business, trainings, meetings, and my library (audio, book & NOOK form). Recently being diagnosed with breast cancer has also made me so grateful for having a home-based business that I can work around treatments, and still be income-producing!

  27. Dear Randy,
I shared this on my Facebook groups…
And I SOO appreciate it right now, since I truly believe- and LIVE- what you are saying here.
Every time I have truly changed, is when I hit rock bottom or stopped tolerating…
AND what has made me a winner are not my easiest, but my hardest challenges… Yet I am still PUSHING myself, because I know I CAN do more!
    Thank you for your INSIGHT+INSPIRATION,
    More success+blessings to you,
    Monica Sancio.

WOW! Randy, I don’t always agree with you, but a bigger % of time you are right on target. It is soooooo easy to make excuses why we can do or accomplish things. Life DOES get in the way. The past 6 months I have had major roadblocks, that I didnt put there. A famiy member did, and in trying to keep some innocents safe from the harm that was thrown our way, I almost entirely quit my business, networking etc, Then I realized I could do nothing ABOUT the roadblock, except control how I REACTED…back in business, quit focusing on the bad, and I’m on my way… the roadblock could have been serious, in the fact that a family situation can sometimes turn deadly..however, by focusing ON that it made a black cloud over us all….now by focusing on business, things have gone better. Keep it up randy!
